Our Food & Wine day Tour offers the perfect combination of food, wine and sightseeing. It will please every food and wine lover: in the morning, join a food tour in Avignon before spending the afternoon in Châteauneuf du Pape where you will learn everything about the famous wine.
Julien
9.00am: Meet your guide Julien for a food walking tour in Avignon.
During the 4h visit, you will discover the city’s history and stop here and there,
at some traditional artisan shops for a variety of tastings from sweet to savoury.
This tour will introduce you to Provence food and traditions.
It includes a walking tour of the old town, 10 tastings, a stop at the colourful
‘Les Halles’ market and a fine Rhône Valley wine tasting,
which will nicely introduce your afternoon.
The tour finishes around 1.00pm.
1.00pm-1.30pm:Free time in Avignon
Romain
1.30pm: Meet your guide Romain, an expert sommelier, who will drive you to Châteauneuf du Pape, where the Rhône Valley finest wine is produced.
After a walk into the vineyards with explanation about the grape varieties, climate and soils specific to Chateauneuf du Pape, you will head to a family run winery for a private visit. Romain will give you a full explanation about the vinification and aging process before you enjoy a wine tasting(including barrel wine tasting).
Your second tasting will take place in a Château (one of the most famous and oldest cellars in the area).
If time permits, your tour will end with a chocolate tasting.
Romain will drive you back to Avignon at 6pm.

- 10 tastings of Traditional Provençal products including drinks
- Visit & aperitif at “Les Halles” Market
- Tasting of a fine Rhône Valley wine (AOC)
AFTERNOON
